A Caring & Qualified Massage Training Faculty

Our Houston massage school staff strives to relate to each student as an individual. We work hard to provide you with the information and skills needed to become a competent and successful massage therapist. We believe the HSM staff consists of the best massage therapy instructors in Houston, all of whom have many years of outstanding teaching experience. Our Director of Education is Patricia Griffin Kanter-Kennedy. Patricia trained and taught at one of the former top Houston massage schools, The Winters’ School, Inc., as well as other Houston area schools prior to working with us at Houston School of Massage for a number of years now.

Listed below you will find a few details regarding some of the members of our English massage school faculty at Houston’s exceptional Massage Therapy School, the Houston School of Massage:

Jose E. Carrillo, BS, LMT, MTI

Jose is the founder and Director of the Houston School of Massage. He is both a licensed massage instructor and therapist. Jose has had a private massage practice, has worked at several major Houston spas, served as an international spa consultant, and has been an instructor and administrator. Jose is also a co-creator of the HSM basic massage Spanish program. Jose believes learning should be fun, so he loves to add his light-hearted humor to all aspects of our school.

Areas of Massage School Instruction:

Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, Health and Hygiene, Business Practices and Professional Ethics, Hydrotherapy, Massage Techniques and Internship Program Administration.

Griffin Kanter-Kennedy, MLS, BS,LMT, MTI, NCBTMB

Griffin has become an outstanding and recognized instructor in the city of Houston. Her ability to inspire her massage students stems from her own personal experiences. After surviving 13 years in the corporate world, she then turned her life around to do what she loves. She has been a licensed massage therapist in Texas, as well as Nationally Certified, since 1994. She is the creator of many of our excellent continuing education classes as well as our Director of Education. Her life skills include being a massage therapist for humans and animals, a massage therapy instructor, and a Reiki Master.

Stan McDonald, BS, LMT

Stan is a graduate of California Polytechnic University in Pomona, California with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. In addition to Swedish Massage, Stan is trained and well experienced in Corporate Chair Massage, Sports Massage, and Polarity Therapy. Stan has taught marketing, public relations and time management classes in the corporate environment. Stan enjoys spending time assisting several non-profit organizations in the city of Houston.
